Program Description

Explore the wild beauty of the Akamas Peninsula, Cyprus’ last untouched coastal frontier. This adventure is perfect for nature lovers, covering the region’s most breathtaking spots. Walk through the Avakas Gorge, Cyprus’ most impressive canyon, with towering limestone walls forming a natural tunnel— a 30-40 minute scenic walk on uneven terrain, so good footwear is recommended. Visit Lara Beach, home to the Turtle Conservation Project, where endangered sea turtles have been protected for over 30 years (turtle nesting season is June-August; the nests hatch until early October). Visit the viewpoint and admire the fantastic view of the beautiful surrounding areas of Akamas Peninsula. See the Baths of Aphrodite - one of the true landmarks of the Akamas - this freshwater spring is connected to the myth of Cyprus' home-grown Goddess of Love. Free time for optional lunch and drinks. This adventure includes off-road driving, adding a thrilling touch with a bit of dust and bumps along the way.
