Program Description

The tour begins with a hotel pickup, followed by a scenic drive to the volcanic crater of Trou aux Cerfs. This dormant volcano, standing 605 meters high and formed over two million years ago, features a forested crater with a small lake nestled at its base. The journey continues to Curepipe, where you'll visit a model ship factory and witness skilled artisans demonstrate the intricate craft of miniaturization and replica making. Next, you'll head to the sacred Grand Bassin Lake, a significant place of worship for the island’s Hindu community. The tour also includes a picturesque drive through the Black River Gorges National Park, with a stop at the Black River Viewpoint, offering breathtaking views of the area’s unique flora and fauna. A break for lunch follows. Afterward, the adventure takes you to the village of Chamarel, renowned for its stunning 90-meter waterfall and the fascinating Seven-Colored Earth, a rare geological wonder created by the transformation of basalt lava. The tour concludes with a visit to La Rhumerie de Chamarel, where you'll learn about the rum production process and enjoy a tasting of the local varieties. Finally, you’ll return to your hotel.
