Program Description

This excursion is an opportunity to discover just how diverse Oman can be.

The day begins with a relaxing walk along Taqah Beach and to Taqah Castle – modest on the outside, yet filled with local history inside. You’ll continue the journey by comfortable coach. The scenery changes dramatically as you leave the desert behind and arrive at a lush oasis. The next stop is Wadi Darbat, a valley of waterfalls, rock formations, and rich greenery.

You’ll then visit the Teeq Cave and the Tawi Ateer Sinkhole, also known as the Well of Birds, where hundreds of birds nest along the cliffs and frequently take flight. This giant karst sinkhole is among the largest in the world, reaching about 211 meters in depth. Nearby lies the Tayq Sinkhole – smaller, but offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains and rock formations.

The journey continues to the Jabal Samhan Mountains, where you’ll stop at a viewpoint to admire sweeping panoramas: rugged mountain ranges, dry riverbeds cutting across the land, the coastline, the deep-blue sea, and even as far as Yemen. Along the way, you might also encounter baobab trees, found only in this part of Oman. With their massive trunks and barrel-like shapes, they look straight out of a fairytale.

And at the end, something truly unexpected! You’ll pass the anti-gravity point, a place where cars appear to roll uphill on their own. Strange, fun, and hard to explain – it’s definitely something you need to see for yourself!
