Program Description
Journey into the scenic Troodos Mountains and discover a completely different landscape of Cyprus, where forest-covered hills, peaceful reservoirs and centuries-old villages reveal the island's rich natural and cultural heritage. From historic stone bridges to traditional wineries, this experience offers a wonderful escape into the quieter, mountainous side of the island.
The route takes you past the picturesque Asprokremmos and Arminou Dams, two beautiful reservoirs surrounded by impressive mountain scenery. Hidden among the trees of the Troodos forest, you'll also find Tzelefos Bridge, an elegant 15th-century Venetian stone bridge that stands as a reminder of the island's fascinating past.
Deeper in the mountains, discover a secluded waterfall nestled among lush greenery. The peaceful setting and refreshing mountain atmosphere provide a lovely contrast to the sun-drenched coastline, offering a chance to appreciate the natural beauty of Cyprus beyond its famous beaches.
The historic village of Omodos brings another dimension to the experience. Wander through its narrow cobbled streets, admire traditional stone houses and visit the Monastery of the Holy Cross. During your free time, explore local craft shops and enjoy the opportunity to taste traditional halloumi pita.
Cyprus's long winemaking history comes to life during a visit to a local winery. Enjoy a tasting of traditional wines, including the renowned Commandaria, a historic sweet wine whose origins date back thousands of years. The wine tasting is included in the tour price.
The journey also includes a visit to Aphrodite's Rock, one of Cyprus's most celebrated coastal landmarks. Associated with the legendary birthplace of the Greek goddess of love and beauty, this impressive location offers beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea.
With its combination of mountain scenery, Venetian heritage, traditional village life and renowned local wines, this excursion reveals a fascinating side of Cyprus shaped by history, nature and generations of local traditions.
