Program Description

Step into one of Barcelona’s most refined concert venues, where architecture and art come together to create an exceptional setting for music. Palau de la Música Catalana is one of the finest examples of Catalan Art Nouveau, defined by light, colour and carefully crafted detail.

The building was completed between 1905 and 1908 and designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner, one of the leading figures of Catalan Modernism. His vision brought together several decorative arts, including mosaics, stained glass, sculpture and ornamental ironwork. Each element was conceived as part of a unified design, giving the interior an almost theatrical quality.

The Palau is more than a concert hall, it’s also a statement of the artistic ideals of its time. Its architecture, decorative features and use of natural light create a space that is an experience in itself, even beyond the performances held there.

In 1997, Palau de la Música Catalana was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, confirming its status as one of Barcelona’s most important works of modernist architecture.
